”The Crashing of the Bulls' Horns” has been rooted in Yamakoshi as a Shinto ritual since ancient times. The most important point of this cultural event is that the bulls are pulled apart at the climax of the battle. This is to prevent any injuries to the bulls, which were traditionally valuable workers for farmers. The powerful competition in which cows weighing more than 1 ton lock horns is a traditional event in Yamakoshi from spring to autumn.
